Very Early On There Was A Band.....
Back then, we had a different drummer (Vince Latino, pictured) and a different organist (Jeff Peterson). In the early-mid seventies, Kit joined on keyboards, and later Dusty (who previously had played with John in Peter Moon) joined on drums... Mike, John, Tony and at times Kit, shared vocal duties during this period... Realizing we needed a strong lead singer, we recruited another of John's former bandmates, a very talented but 'always in trouble' vocalist - John David Wilkinson, better known as 'Cotton'. Cotton brought our ability to write strong original material to a much higher level... Artistically and musically, this was a really strong period, but Cotton's shenanigans finally forced us to look elsewhere for a vocalist. Good friend Bobby Quinlan recommended Jeff Bastardi, a singer he knew from his east coast travels. Bob paid to fly Jeff out from Pennsylvania for an audition, and Spider Kelly as most of you know it was born.
